Fever
Fever is a symptom of many diseases. Fever itself is not a disease but a sign that the immune system is trying to fight off an infection or illness. The body’s temperature rises about 2 degrees above the normal range due to increased blood flow and activity in the sweat glands.
A fever can be caused by infections, viral illnesses like colds or flu (highly contagious), autoimmune disorders like lupus (where antibodies attack healthy cells and tissues), cancerous tumors growing inside organs such as the liver or kidneys, and even allergies.
A person experiencing unusual symptoms like fever and suspects they have Hepatitis B should contact a doctor as soon as possible. While the doctor may initially attribute these symptoms to other medical conditions, such as influenza, they also want to rule out Hepatitis B as a possible diagnosis before proceeding with treatment options for these other illnesses.
