Insect Bites
Stye develops whenever there is a blocked oil gland located near the eyelids. An insect bite near the eyes opens an entrance for foreign particles. And particle build-up is one of the most common ways facial inflammations occurs. An insect bite will give particles a point of entrance in which they can penetrate the skin. Moreover, insect bites have another problem aside from opening an entrance for particle build-up.
An insect bite can also release bacteria inside the skin, which then causes inflammation and irritation. An inflammation like the stye partnered with skin irritation prolongs the healing time it takes for a stye to drain.
Furthermore, skin irritation from insect bites contributes greatly to developing styes and inflammations due to the itch caused by an insect bite. Insect bites are tinier than wounds or gashes in terms of size. However, an insect bite can cause severe damage and inflammation due to the pathogens and bacteria carried by an insect. Also, an insect bite is faster and will cause irritation and inflammation not long after the bite. Styes inflicted by an insect bite, however, aren’t necessarily stronger.
