Public Showers
Plantar warts are a disease coming from a virus called human papillomavirus. Direct contact with the virus must be made to get plantar warts. These viruses thrive in warm and moist areas, such as public showers.
A public or communal shower is a facility wherein a group of single showers is put together in a room or area. This facility caters to many people at the same time to shower. Public showers are typically free or inexpensive. They are mostly found in a dorm, school, gym, and changeroom.
Wearing footwear while using a public shower is advisable. Due to the number of people a public shower caters, it can accumulate germs, bacteria, and viruses. In addition, public floors from this facility often give a person direct contact with human secretions such as sweat. This may cause human papillomavirus infection, eventually leading to plantar warts.
