12 Causes & Common Triggers Of Plantar Wart (You Should Know)

Swimming Pools

A public or shared swimming pool is a common transmission place of viruses such as human papillomavirus. Since this type of microorganism is commonly spread through direct contact, submerging in pools contaminated by invaders such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses is crucial and may risk the body to various diseases such as plantar warts.

People with weak immune systems are more susceptible to having plantar warts when submerging in swimming pools. Their body is unable to fight the invaders found in the pool. The most common invaders in swimming pools are cryptosporidium, norovirus, and human papillomavirus. These invaders are harmful to the body as they weaken the immune system. When the immune system is already compromised, it fights plantar warts with difficulty.

People who also have cuts or wounds should avoid contact with swimming pools. As the human papillomavirus gets into the skin, it starts to develop plantar warts on the soles of the feet after a few weeks. People with plantar warts should also avoid exposing their feet to the water. It may irritate the skin even more, causing a prolonged period of infection in the body.
