Drinking too much water can throw off the balance of water in your body and make you feel dizzy or lightheaded. When this happens, a person may have trouble standing up straight or walking without stumbling.

If you’re experiencing balance difficulties and think you might be overhydrated, try taking off your shoes and wiggling your toes. Do so for about 30 seconds. Then take a minute to evaluate how you feel—if the symptoms persist, you’re probably still overhydrated, but if they’ve gone away, you’re probably not.
