Overeating
The consumption of more calories than the body needs is called overeating. This causes the stomach to expand to accommodate the large amount of food it consumes. Due to the expansion of the stomach, the organs are squished together and pushed against each other. This will cause discomfort to the body. Forms of distress include tiredness, drowsiness, and nausea.
Overeating can also require the body to function beyond its limits. This causes the body to excrete hormones and enzymes that help in breaking the food. During this process, hydrochloric acid, a compound used for breaking down food and absorbing nutrients, is used to support the stomach to digest the food. This acid may cause heartburn accompanied by nausea.
As the stomach digests the food, it also produces gas, which may make the body feel uneasy and want to vomit. Sickness can be triggered to speed up the metabolism as it burns the extra fats and calories the body accumulates. While this process is happening, a temporary sensation of dizziness and nausea occurs. This is due to the brain’s signaling to feel nausea and triggers vomiting so that excess food will be regurgitated.
