What Could Trigger Nausea? 14 Possible Causes

Gallbladder Disease

The gallbladder is part of the internal organ located under the liver. It houses bile, a substance that helps the body digest fats released from the gallbladder. There are cases in which the gallbladder is affected by infection, inflammation, stones, and blockages. Whenever these conditions happen, the gallbladder suffers from gallbladder disease.

Gallbladder diseases are conditions in which the organ is affected by harmful substances. There are different types of gallbladder disease. The most common is gallstones, substances that form a hard matter that blocks the passageway of the gallbladder. Another disease is cholecystitis, which is characterized by the inflammation of the organ. On the other hand, choledocholithiasis is the inability of the gallbladder to excrete bile. Finally, acalculous gallbladder disease is another condition wherein the gallbladder is inflamed without the appearance of gallstones.

These conditions have similarities in their symptoms with nausea. In addition, nausea is common among gallbladder diseases due to blocked paths where the bile is excreted. This situation may irritate the gallbladder and may trigger nausea.
