Pain When Urinating
Typically, pain when urinating is a sign of a urinary tract infection. As such, get a urine test to see what’s happening and what you can do to treat the issue quickly. That said, pain when urinating is also potentially a symptom of left kidney pain, specifically when it involves kidney stones. These mineral deposits can develop in the body due to a poor diet, leading to the stones blocking the ureter or the tube that connects the kidneys to the bladder. As such, it can result in stabbing pain often characterized by its intensity. One of the more common symptoms alongside stabbing pain is a pain that comes in waves during urination.
As such, pain when urinating does not necessarily always mean a urinary tract infection. However, such a thing can lead to UTI if left unchecked. Kidney stones are often too painful to ignore, so most people head to the doctor to get everything checked. The fortunate thing is that a urine sample will make everything easier to diagnose. If paired with other types of pain, let your doctor know.
