Honey
Honey is a sweet concoction from high concentrations of monosaccharides, fructose, and glucose. It appears to be a sticky and yellowish-brownish fluid made by the bees as it collects nectar from flowers. This sweet, viscid ingredient is present in cooking and medical remedies.
Honey is known to have antioxidant, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. This is the reason why it became popular in the world of remedies and medicinal treatments. In addition, raw or unpasteurized honey contains yeast, a form of good bacteria.
Aside from that, honey also contains numerous vitamins beneficial to strengthening the immune system. It contains calcium, magnesium, manganese, niacin, pantothenic acid, phosphorous, riboflavin, and zinc, to name a few. It also contains large amounts of enzymes, amino acids, and other beneficial compounds. Building the immune system is important in fighting tonsil stones. The white blood cells must be strong enough to kill harmful bacteria.
Honey is also proven to have antibacterial properties. This is why experts suggest that honey can eliminate unwanted bacteria in the throat. To use honey, boil two cups of water and two tablespoons of honey. Bring to a boil, cool it down, and gargle to kill unnecessary bacteria.
