Vitamin C
Another proven way to get rid of plantar warts is by consuming higher amounts of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is known for its immune-boosting and wound-healing properties. In addition, several small-scale studies claimed that higher consumption of vitamin C, whether through diet or supplements, can slow down or stop the reproduction of HPV. However, wider and deeper research is needed to solidify this claim.
Aside from oral consumption, vitamin C is also used as a topical treatment for plantar warts. To do this, crush a vitamin C tablet and mix the powder with water to make a paste. Use the paste as an ointment. Then, apply it to the plantar warts and cover them with a bandage before bed. Wash the affected area with clean water and mild soap in the morning. Repeat this process every day until the warts are eliminated.
Mixing lemon juice or orange juice with powdered vitamin C is also proven effective. This is because of the high level of acidity found in lemon juice. However, this may irritate those with sensitive skin. So, it’s advised to use it moderately and with caution.
