10 Home Remedies For Genital Warts: The Natural Treatment List

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil or melaleuca oil is an essential oil effective against fungi, tiny insects, bacteria, and viruses. In addition, since it contains antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties, it is known to help heal minor wounds and reduce inflammation caused by infection. As a result, tea tree oil is widely used to treat lice, insect bites, acne, nail fungus, and warts.

Tea tree oil is used to eliminate genital warts by applying it to warts or around the affected area. However, concentrated tea tree oil should not be used directly on the skin. It’s essential to dilute the oil with a carrier oil like coconut oil, almond oil, or olive oil before using it. Follow the 1:12 ratio in making the diluted solution, wherein for every drop of tea tree oil, add 12 drops of base oil. This solution can be applied to the infected areas once or twice daily. It may take a while, in most cases several months, before seeing a significant reduction of genital warts.

Remember that tea tree oil should only be used externally and not be ingested through oral consumption. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should also avoid using tea tree oil.
