Bed Rest
Suffering from a dry throat is usually the symptom of other conditions, such as an allergic reaction. As such, it’s a good idea to focus on getting as much rest as possible to help the body heal. Getting bed rest is one of the most effective home remedies to treat a dry throat, especially when paired with getting enough fluids and staying hydrated. However, getting bed rest can be tricky for those who suffer from the more severe version of dry throat, where the throat can end up swelling due to the irritation. In addition, getting to sleep can be more challenging when you’re having difficulty breathing, so a good tactic is to get bed rest with your head in an elevated position. Getting more pillows to elevate your head is a good idea, as well as trying to get some sleep on a reclined seat.
Rest is always a good idea for anyone who isn’t feeling well or suffering from one condition or another. It allows your body to focus on healing, and you’ll usually feel better after, especially if you’ve been feverish. Also, it’s recommended for anyone suffering from a cold and a dry throat.
