Pineapple Juice
Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme found in its juice and stem. It produces a substance that fights bacteria and infections, decreasing the swelling and pain of the bronchial tubes. It also contains Vitamin C (good for boosting immunity and reducing inflammation), which helps thin out mucus and phlegm, blocking the airway and relieving the pain caused by too much coughing. Prepare the following mixtures:
Put one tablespoon of honey into a medium-sized bowl and add ½ cup of pineapple juice.
Put ½ tablespoon of honey into a mixing bowl and add a cup of pineapple juice, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Stir and drink the mixture.
Mix 1 tablespoon of honey, a cup of pineapple juice, and one tablespoon of chopped ginger (nearly minced), blended with a pinch of salt and pepper. For better results, drink three tablespoons of the mixture three times a day.
The consumption of bromelain may also result in an upset stomach, nausea, and diarrhea and can trigger reactions in people allergic to pineapples. Make sure to only consume the necessary amount for treating health conditions.
