Avoid Salty Food
Eating lots of salty food can lead to more severe health issues like stroke, kidney stones, and heart disease. Too much salt intake can lead to dehydration of the cells, leading to excessive fluid retention. Fluid retention can cause puffiness, inflammation, and bags under the eyes.
The recommended daily salt intake is 2,300 milligrams. However, experts suggest taking less salt if possible. The ideal consumption of salt is no more than 1,500 milligrams each day. To put it in perspective, ¼ tsp of salt is equal to 580 mg of sodium, ½ tsp of salt is equivalent to 1,160 mg of sodium, and a tsp is 2,320 mg of sodium.
Strict monitoring of diet is needed to cut off the salt. It is better to lessen processed food, and junk food is one effective way to cut off the salt. Instead, eat whole foods, vegetables, homemade meals, and fresh fruits whenever possible.
