Crushed Garlic
Garlic isn’t just effective in the kitchen. It also has medicinal properties that people living with athlete’s foot can take advantage of if they want to cure their condition naturally. Although garlic will have a strong smell, the smell coming from the garlic indicates the presence of the alliinase enzyme, which has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. In addition, the allicin derived from the enzyme inhibits bacterial and fungal DNA and protein synthesis, thereby controlling their growth.
People who suffer from athlete’s foot can try to control the spread of the condition with crushed garlic. All they need to do is to crush four to six cloves of garlic and rub them directly into the affected area. It may sting and burn depending on the severity of the athlete’s foot, but the patient must learn to take it all in stride. They must do it at least twice daily for at least a week, and although the smell may be bothersome, they must learn to live with it if they want to improve. Consequently, they must rinse their feet thoroughly with clean water and dry them with a towel.
