Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol can either be an ethanol-based liquid or an isopropyl solution that is denatured in essence and is used for various purposes. All types of alcohol are unfit for human ingestion as they can cause stomach discomfort and other bodily distress. Typically, alcohol concentration ranges from 70 percent to 100 percent, depending on its purpose. It is widely known that alcohol is a natural antiseptic and disinfectant and is also known for its versatility in various home uses.

People with mild to severe athlete’s foot can directly apply rubbing alcohol on the affected part or soak their feet in a solution of one part alcohol to two parts water. Although the alcohol and water solution may seem weak, if the person feels that the solution isn’t strong enough to provide the necessary disinfection, they can easily adjust the ratio from 70 percent alcohol to 30 percent water. However, doctors recommend that the isopropyl alcohol should at least have a 50 percent concentration to achieve the needed results. They also recommend soaking the feet in the solution for at least 30 minutes to achieve maximum effect. Then, the person must dry their feet with a clean towel.
