Sugar Scrub
Sugar is an exfoliating ingredient. It could help eliminate dead skin cells and address common skin problems like clogged pores, blackheads, whiteheads, and acne scars. In addition, sugar is a potent source of glycolic acid, which allows cell turnover by loosening the bond between skin cells.
To use sugar as a natural treatment against the appearance of pimple scars, mix two parts of cane sugar with one unit of extra-virgin olive oil. Apply this pasty mixture to the acne scars and massage gently, including the surrounding areas. Then, rinse and moisturize. Use it every two to three days for the best results.
People are drawn to using sugar as a DIY exfoliant, not just against acne scars but for the whole body, because it is inexpensive and easily accessible. However, most skin experts would not advise its use or recommend at least using it with caution. Sugar scrubs can be less than gentle on the skin, causing mini tears on the surface where bacteria can enter and result in some serious skin troubles.
