Headache
Headaches are often a symptom of herpes. A person may experience headaches alone or, in some cases, fever and fatigue. Around 75 percent of people experience a headache within the first week after infection with HSV-1 or HSV-2. These headaches are typically mild but can become severe if left untreated.
A study published in the Journal of Medical Virology found that migraine sufferers who had HSV-1 were more likely to experience severe migraines if they didn’t get treatment for their infection.
If an individual has a headache that comes on suddenly and is accompanied by the symptoms, it could be related to an underlying condition. Also, if the headache is accompanied by a fever that rises so high, seek medical attention promptly, and be ested for possible meningitis.
