Fever
Fever is one of the most common symptoms of herpes, and it’s typically present as soon as a person catches an infection. It can last for a few days or more than a week. A fever may be the only sign they have herpes (or another disease) for some people. But if they have any other symptoms, they should be treated first before treating the fever.
An infection doesn’t always cause fever. It can also come from an allergic reaction or something else that isn’t related to a person’s immune system at all. This is why it’s essential to take their temperature before taking medication for fever. If they react strongly to something but don’t have an infection, antibiotics won’t help.
