Change Sleeping Position Frequently
One of the best ways to reduce hernia pain is to change the sleeping position frequently. The most effective position for treating a hernia is sleeping on the back.
However, this may not always be possible, especially if a person has other health conditions that make it difficult to sleep in one position for long periods. In such cases, try sleeping on their side or stomach instead of remaining in a supine (lying flat) position all night long.
This will help reduce hernia pain, as lying on the side or stomach uses different muscles than lying flat. Sleeping on a softer mattress or using a soft pillow can help make the body more comfortable. If unsure of how to position in bed, it may be helpful to consult with a doctor before making any changes.
