Upper Belly Pain
Gallstones are a common cause of upper belly pain. They occur when there is a buildup of irregularly shaped cholesterol, bile, and other substances in the gallbladder. Some people have no symptoms, while others have intense bouts of pain in the upper middle of their stomachs.
One indication of having gallstones is upper belly pain. The sharp pains may come and go or be constant and unyielding. They can occur in waves and last for a few seconds or several minutes.
