13 Symptoms Of Gallbladder You Should Know

Dark Urine

Dark urine can indicate many conditions, from the most benign to the most serious. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to tell what is causing a person’s dark urine without performing an in-person examination and conducting tests (possibly even surgery).

When gallstones are present, their pigment (usually green or brown) will be released when they pass through the bile ducts into the small intestine. This can turn the urine brown or green and give it a cloudy appearance. Pain or discomfort in the abdomen may also be experienced. If a stone is too large to pass, nausea and vomiting may also be experienced.

Treatment for this condition depends on whether or not you have symptoms, your age and overall health condition, and how severe the stones are. Options range from medication to surgery, depending on your particular situation.
