Butenafine
Butenafine is a drug used to treat several fungal skin infections, including jock itch, ringworm, and athlete’s foot. The medication is also used for the treatment of pityriasis (tinea versicolor), a skin ailment caused by a fungus that causes the skin on the legs, arms, neck, and chest to become lighter or darker. Butenafine acts by stopping fungus from proliferating.
The use of this medicine to treat fungal nail infections is not recommended. Butenafine should only be used on the skin. The region that needs treatment must be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Apply a small amount of the medication to the affected area and its surroundings and gently press it in.
This should be done 1 to 2 times each day. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any queries. Use the medication exactly as prescribed if it has been given to you by your doctor. Unless your physician instructs you to do so, avoid bandaging, covering, or wrapping the affected region.
