Corticosteroids
Folliculitis is a side effect of several drugs, including corticosteroids. Skin problems, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma are just some of the numerous illnesses that benefit from using corticosteroid medications, including cortisone, hydrocortisone, and prednisone. Unfortunately, however, these medications can cause many unwanted side effects.
Corticosteroids reduce inflammation when taken in amounts above what the body usually produces. As a result, it can lessen the severity of arthritis, asthma, and eczema, all of which are inflammatory diseases. Corticosteroids can often manage conditions where the immune system inappropriately targets healthy tissues due to their suppressive effect on the immune system.
Some potential adverse effects of corticosteroids are significant, including developing folliculitis. However, users may mitigate the negative consequences by taking precautions once they know what they could be.
Since oral corticosteroids affect the entire body rather than a specific location, they are more likely to produce serious adverse effects than any other form of therapy. Possible adverse effects of the medicine include folliculitis, but they are dose-dependent.
