Washing Your Hair too Often
In some situations, skin conditions such as dry scalp aren’t due to poor hygiene but the exact opposite. Those who wash their hair often might remove dirt and grime from their hair and scalp, but it also strips the hair of essential oils. Sebum is a type of oil that keeps the hair moisturized and healthy. Washing your hair too often can strip the hair of sebum, which dries out the hair and causes damage. A case of dry hair will eventually lead to a dry scalp if you aren’t careful. While it’s understandable to want to stay clean, there’s no reason to wash your hair more than twice a day. Washing your hair in the morning and evening might be too much, depending on your hair and how prone you are to skin conditions.
If you want to avoid a dry scalp, ensure that you limit the number of times you wash your hair daily. Not only will it lower the odds of a dry scalp, but your hair will also look more lustrous and vibrant.
