Tooth Grinding
Tooth grinding, also known as bruxism, is a common cause of yellow teeth. This is because the enamel on your teeth is more vulnerable when exposed by grinding your teeth during sleep. When you grind your teeth during the day or at night, the enamel can be worn away, and the tooth itself gets damaged. When this happens, the dentin in the tooth is revealed, which looks yellowish compared to other parts of the tooth.
Teeth grinding is a problem that affects many people. People who grind their teeth often have yellow teeth and stains around their teeth. Grinding your teeth can eventually cause your teeth to break or fall out. When you grind your teeth, it puts extra pressure on the enamel of your tooth, which causes the enamel to wear away more easily. This makes it easier for bacteria to enter your tooth’s dentin, the layer below the enamel. Bacteria in the dentin can make your teeth yellow and cause cavities and gum disease.
