Weak Immune System
While the connection between face warts and a weakened immune system isn’t always clear, some things point to a possible connection. For example, people with weakened immune systems have difficulty fighting off infections because their bodies can’t produce enough white blood cells to fight the infection.
As a result, they’re more likely to get sick from viruses, bacteria, and fungi. They may also have difficulty recovering from illness or injury because their bodies can’t repair tissue as quickly as people with healthy immune systems.
HIV and AIDS weaken the immune system by attacking white blood cells. Other conditions that can weaken the immune system include diabetes, certain types of cancer, and organ transplantation. Pregnancy can also weaken the immune system because the developing fetus needs more energy and resources than the mother’s body can provide.
Different treatment options are available for individuals with a weakened immune system and developing face warts. One option is cryotherapy, which involves freezing the wart with liquid nitrogen. Another option is topical treatments, such as salicylic acid or cantharidin. These treatments break down the wart tissue, so it eventually falls off.
