Excimer Laser
The excimer laser is a light-based treatment that can be used to treat vitiligo. This laser emits ultraviolet radiation that targets the melanocytes in the skin and destroys them. The melanocytes are responsible for making the melanin that gives skin its color, so when the melanocytes are destroyed, the color of the skin may become lighter or darker. This treatment is suitable for most vitiligo patients.
