Throwing and Catching a Ball

Many people who experience vertigo consider traditional treatments like medications and physical therapy. However, you can do some activities at home to help alleviate this condition. One of these is called throwing and catching a ball. Repeating this activity regularly can strengthen your vestibular system and help you regain the ability to sense where your body is in space.

To start, stand on solid ground with good posture and look straight ahead. Then, throw the ball as hard as possible at the floor in front of you while maintaining balance. Once the ball hits the floor, bend down as quickly as possible and grab it before it bounces back. As you bend down, keep your eyes focused on the ball and keep your head level with your shoulders at all times.

Once you’ve got it, stand back up and turn to face forward again. Repeat this process for about 10 minutes once a day. By keeping up with this exercise, you’ll likely have less trouble with vertigo and can move more fluidly in daily life.
