Low Blood Pressure
Low blood pressure, or hypotension, can cause several issues with the circulatory system. One of these issues is vertigo, a condition in which a person may feel like they or the objects around them are spinning. In addition, the amount of blood that reaches depends on both the heart rate and the blood pressure, so when either one of these things falls, it can affect your balance.
When your blood pressure drops below normal levels, you’ll have less blood to pump through your system and reach vital organs like your brain. Because there’s less blood getting to this primary organ, it will have to rely on other systems for survival. When this happens, you may experience dizziness or even lose consciousness due to the body’s response to low oxygen levels in the brain. If you’re suffering from low blood pressure, avoid standing for long periods and try going for slow walks instead—you don’t want to put any unnecessary stress on your body that could cause further problems.
