Lower Back Pain
It’s a common type of pain that everyone would experience at some point in their lives. Simple back pain may disappear after some rest, especially if vigorous exercise or heavy lifting causes it. Symptoms may include pain when bending, lifting, or sitting for an extended period. However, more severe symptoms, like bowel incontinence, fever, and foot or leg pain, require immediate medical attention. Also, if the pain doesn’t subside in 72 hours, it’s recommended to go to the doctor.
There are various causes of back pain. Besides heavy lifting and extensive exercise, kidney stone is another possible reason. The uric acid crystals that build in the kidney could pass through the urine if they are small. However, if they are big, it would be difficult for them to be excreted with urination. Therefore, sound waves and surgery may be needed to remove these kidney stones. Other possible causes of back pain are herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spine curvatures, cancer, spinal infection, and ovarian cysts. Your GP will find its cause through various tests to determine the best course of action to treat it.
