Ibuprofen
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen are generally used to relieve pain and fever and alleviate some of the symptoms of urethritis. Some brands it may go by are Advil, Motrin, Nurofen, Cuprofen, Ibu-Tab, and Brufen. It can be taken as a tablet or syrup. There are also topical products available. Its common uses include treating fevers, inflammation, headaches, menstrual pain, a cold, toothache, back pain, arthritis, and sprains.
While a part of essential medications, as stated by the WHO, ibuprofen isn’t without side effects. These include pain, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, dyspepsia, and bloating. It’s also possible to experience dizziness, headaches, nervousness, skin rashes, fluid retention, and edema. It’s ill-advised for those with allergic reactions to NSAIDs or who have recently had or are about to get heart surgery to take these medications. It is also inappropriate for those with recurrent stomach and gastrointestinal problems, stomach ulcers, bleeding problems, hypertension, heart conditions, kidney disorders, and Crohn’s disease.
Those who experience blood in stool or vomit, persistent pain, fever, skin color changes, hives, shock, or wheezing should stop using the drug and contact their doctors to prevent more damage.
