Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has amazing healing abilities. Several studies have shown that aloe vera extract contains high antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. As a result, it is widely used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, burns, and dry skin. Some people also use it to reduce post-partum hair loss and other hair-related issues. Moreover, recent studies have explored the possible effects of aloe vera in treating and preventing tooth decay.
In a study conducted in 2019, a group of researchers tried to use aloe vera gel to reduce the bacteria buildup in the teeth and gums of patients. Their research yields impressive results. For example, 75% of patients with stage 1 tooth decay showed improvements after using aloe vera gel, while 60% of patients with stage 3-6 tooth decay showed milder symptoms. In relation to this, another study was conducted in 2020. This study highlighted the potential of aloe vera as a cavity disinfectant.
Aloe vera’s antibacterial properties are effective against harmful microorganisms in the oral cavity. However, further research is needed to solidify this claim.
