Public Showers
Showers that are shared with people are called communal or public showers. These are free showers to which people have access. Unfortunately, several harmful effects of taking a bath in a public shower exist. One of them is the accumulation of bacteria. As the feet are exposed to the wet floors of the shower, they can accumulate disease-causing fungi. In addition, having direct contact with the infected area may increase the risk of having toenail fungus.
Toenail fungi are acquired through direct contact, and are highly contagious, easily spread, and difficult to treat. The fungi thrive in moist, warm conditions such as public showers. It grows in this area and can easily develop through these conditions. The public shower is a prime breeding ground for invisible fungi that can infect the toenails. Avoid taking a bath in communal places to prevent contact of the feet to the ground, wherein it is highly infected with viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
