What Could Trigger Toe Cramp? 13 Possible Causes

Poor Circulation

Circulation is blood movement from the heart to different body parts. This occurs through the vessels by inducing the heart to pump. This bodily function is the distributor of nutrients and oxygen as it removes the waste products in all body parts.

When the blood flow is disturbed and reduced, some body parts will not receive nutrients. This condition is called poor circulation. Poor circulation can occur in the arteries, which supply oxygenated blood to the arms and legs. The veins can also be affected, as it carries back blood to the heart, and the lymphatic system, which drains tissue fluids.

Various simple activities cause poor circulation. These include sitting for a long time, crossing the legs for too long, and passive leg posture. This prompts the blood vessels to be narrow, leading to the constriction of blood flow. When the blood does not properly flow, it may develop painful toe cramps.

Doctors recommend moving the feet and toes from time to time to prevent the straining and cramping of the toes.
