Cough
Cough is the symptom that is most commonly associated with worms in humans. When a worm in the small intestine stretches to accommodate a large meal, it can push its way into the stomach or lungs and cause coughing. The cough may be more severe due to the irritation of the worm touching the throat lining.
The symptoms of worm infection in humans can include coughing, frequent spitting, and nasal discharge. However, other infections or illnesses can also cause these symptoms, so you should consult a doctor if they occur. If a doctor suspects that an individual has this type of infection, they will need to perform several examinations to determine whether worms are present. The exams to diagnose this condition include x-rays and endoscopy (using a fiber optic tube).
