Panic Attack
Also known as panic disorder, a panic attack usually happens when the fear and stress peak for those suffering from anxiety. It gets to the point where it’s hard to do anything else, and the sufferer becomes almost paralyzed in fear. The feelings of impending doom and stress can be intense, leading to all sorts of anxiety symptoms happening at once. Panic attacks can be highly stressful and lead to PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), where the sufferer will avoid the trigger at all costs.
Panic attacks can be terrifying and are usually the culmination of anxiety disorders. It can result in many symptoms happening at once, which is why it’s best to catch a panic attack as early as you possibly can. There are usually a few telltale signs of a panic attack, especially for those who have experienced it before.
Understanding that you are about to go through a panic attack is an excellent way to help establish control and a potential game plan. It might not be easy to go through a panic attack, but understanding your situation is half the battle.
