Eyelash Extensions
Lash extensions are hairlike cosmetics used to extend the lashes of an eye. Lashes themselves harbor extra bacteria, increasing the risk of infecting the eyelids. Lid infections like stye are common in the eye cosmetic industry, and unsanitized lash extensions are one of many culprits in lid infections caused by cosmetics.
An allergic reaction can be experienced when wearing cosmetics around the eye, particularly lash extensions. This can vary from person to person, ranging from watery eyes and itchiness to lid infections like stye. Moreover, the glue of lash extensions can irritate the user’s eyes, causing lid infections like stye. Lash extensions also possess bacteria from which direct contact is experienced. Direct contract transfer encourages bacterial growth in the eyes, and bacterial growth will eventually become infections that cause irritations and lid inflammations.
Wearing lashes for a prolonged period can cause the glue to irritate the eyes, eventually causing infections to fester and bacteria to grow. Lid infections like stye will inevitably develop if proper sanitation is not upheld.
