Debris
Debris is any foreign object or particle, most commonly seen as dirt or tiny shards of rocks. It is relatively harmless most of the time as it is just dirt. However, debris in the atmosphere can still pose minor dangers, such as causing infections and inflammations like a stye.
For instance, dirt build-up can be caused by debris piling up in the skin’s pores. A pore near the eyelids can store dirt which will inevitably cause infections once debris and dirt clog oil glands near the eyelids. Bacteria will start to fester and multiply in the blocked gland. Developing a stye due to dirt build-up will cause the skin to swell.
With proper care, preventing debris from building up is possible. Inflammation can be negated by having proper hygiene and protection to combat the dangers.
Debris is often overlooked as the cause of inflammations and infections due to its size. However, it is one of the most prominent causes of stye due to how stye develops when a gland is clogged, consequently letting the bacteria fester inside.
