Discharge from the Penis
A man can have a sexually transmitted disease without showing any symptoms. One common example of an STD symptom is the presence of discharge from the penis. Discharge from the penis can be caused by an STD or other health problems, like infection or irritation.
For example, the discharge from gonorrhea is often described as a whitish or milky substance, while the discharge from chlamydia can be clear or white and may be runny like egg whites. Both discharges can irritate the urethra and lead to pain while urinating.
Alternatively, the discharge can be either clear or cloudy and bubbly due to mucus or white blood cells fighting off the infection. Chlamydia is one such STD that causes such symptoms in men. In addition, gonorrhea and trichomoniasis can also cause discharge from the penis as well as a burning sensation during urination.
However, if a man has discharge from his penis and other symptoms, like penile sores, rashes, or burning with urination, he should immediately see a doctor. Symptoms like these are best treated as soon as they appear, especially since some STDs can lead to infertility or even death if left untreated.
