Pain During Ejaculation
For men, burning pain during ejaculation can signify a sexually transmitted disease. This is because when men ejaculate, their urethra, the tube that carries semen from the bladder to outside the body, opens up. However, in many cases, the urethra is not completely open but only slightly open. When this is the case, it can cause pain in the penis during ejaculation.
In other cases, however, the cause of the pain may not be an STD. For example, a man’s testicles will often feel sensitive and painful if he is anxious or experiencing high stress levels. Alternatively, pain during ejaculation can cause a man so much distress that he might avoid sex. The lack of sexual activity can strain relationships that are already under stress due to other factors such as long work hours, distractions, and financial concerns.
A study found that 50 percent of the patients seeking treatment for urinary tract infections or STDs have reported experiencing pain during ejaculation. The underlying causes of pain during ejaculation may vary from person to person.
