Promotes Good Mood
It’s been shown that standing desks can help reduce emotional stress and improve mood by increasing circulation. This can be attributed to the fact that standing engages more muscles than sitting or even walking.
One study found that people who used a standing desk experienced a boost in their mood when using their standing desks and after returning to sitting. The study had participants use a standing desk for twelve weeks. Their mood was recorded before, during, and after the test period. In addition to finding an overall positive shift in the mood while using the standing desk, participants also reported a higher level of energy, better sleep quality, and lower levels of fatigue than they had at the beginning of the study.
The researchers concluded that there are three reasons the standing desk is good for mood: it increases activity levels, reduces stress and mental fatigue, and promotes better posture. All three of these factors lead to increased feelings of well-being for anyone who uses a standing desk regularly.
