Wheezing
Allergies happen when the body overreacts to a foreign substance, such as pollen, pet dander, or dust. To get rid of the allergen, the body releases chemicals like histamine. This release of histamine can lead to the constriction of airways, leading to wheezing.
There are a few ways to ease the symptoms for individuals who suffer from seasonal allergies and find that they often lead to wheezing. Again, it is crucial to keep an eye on the pollen count in one’s area and plan activities accordingly. If one must be outdoors, shower as soon as possible to wash the pollen off the skin and out of the hair.
Another way to reduce exposure to allergens is by using an air purifier at home. Air purifiers can remove many of the allergens floating indoors, making breathing easier for people with seasonal allergies. Be sure to clean or replace the filter in the air purifier regularly so it can continue to do its job effectively.
