Cuts
Cuts or lacerations are a medical term used to describe a skin wound. This injury is a break or skin opening usually caused by a sharp object. Some cases are shallow and near the skin, but there are cases in which the wound is deep enough that it affects the tendons, ligaments, muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and even the bone.
A cut or laceration can cause infections due to the opening it causes, especially when the wounds are not properly and promptly treated. One of these infections is the human papillomavirus. When this virus enters the body through a cut, laceration, or a break in a weak spot on the sole of the feet, it can easily grow and multiply, prompting the body to form plantar warts.
There are cases where the object that caused the cut or laceration has already been infected with human papillomavirus. This condition gives easier access to the virus to enter the body as it spreads the infection.
