Treats Acne
Acne is a common skin condition that affects people of all ages. While many over-the-counter and prescription medications treat acne, some people prefer to use natural remedies. One popular natural remedy for acne is pineapple.
The anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties of pineapple may help reduce the redness and swelling of acne blemishes. Bromelain may also help prevent the growth of Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria that causes acne.
There are several ways one can use pineapple to treat acne. First, it can be used as a pineapple mask. Combine equal parts mashed pineapple and green tea. Apply the mixture to the face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Repeat this process 2-3 times per week.
One can also drink pineapple juice regularly to prevent acne. Drink one to two cups of fresh pineapple juice daily or apply it directly to the skin with a cotton ball. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing it with warm water. Do this daily or as needed. One can also add a few drops of lavender essential oil to help reduce inflammation.
