Bug Bites
If you like spending time outdoors, then bug bites are inevitable. Bruising, rashes, or hives typically mark bites, and they disappear within a few days. However, some bug bites can cause minor to severe complications depending on the bug and your body’s reaction. From superficial bruising to some mild to severe diseases, injury, or trauma, bites can also cause conditions that can lead to other more severe health problems.
In any case, any injury, especially physical trauma, may result in bruising. Bruises, even those that result from insect or bug bites caused by broken blood vessels. When blood leaks from the damaged blood vessels, blood leaks under the skin, resulting in black, blue, or purple spots (petechiae) on the skin. Note that some insect bites cause rashes instead of petechiae, so it pays to know how to tell the difference between rashes and petechiae.
You must press on the affected area if you don’t know how to distinguish between rashes and rash-like petechiae. If the color changes or turns pale, it’s simply rashes, not petechiae.
