Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is made by fermenting the sugars from apples. They are a highly popular home remedy, and researchers say that the substance has various natural anti-inflammatory properties. ACV is also thought to have strong antibacterial properties, which can also help eliminate various toxins in and on the skin.
ACV can be effective against perioral dermatitis because it can inhibit the different proteins that can cause inflammation. The acetic acid in the substance decreases the synthesis of cytokines which cause redness, itchiness, and inflammation. While dermatologists and other medical professionals frown upon the use of ACV to treat perioral dermatitis, the evidence suggests that it can be effective, especially if the overgrowth of candida yeast causes flare-ups.
ACV can also balance the acidity of the skin. As the skin is slightly acidic, and people with perioral dermatitis have more alkaline skin than normal, there’s an imbalance in the pH level. Using ACV can neutralize the alkaline in the skin and enhance overall skin health.
ACV can be missed with water and massaged on the face. It can be left for 15 minutes before rinsing it with warm water.
