More Frequent Bathroom Trips
More frequent bathroom trips can be a symptom of overhydration. Drinking too often or too much will cause you to go to the bathroom more often, but this is a good indication that you are drinking beyond your body’s needs. When you drink too often or consume too much water, your cells become diluted, which causes them to swell. The more they swell, the more frequently they need to empty into the bladder. If the frequency of your trips to the bathroom gets out of control, it’s because your cells are being flushed out at an alarming rate and need to be filled back up with fresh water.
This symptom is also common in people who suffer from heart failure, as their bodies will overcompensate by retaining more water to buffer against fluid loss. This can lead to an overload of fluids within your circulatory system with nowhere else to go.
