Boric Acid-Based Products
Boric acid is a natural anti-fungal agent. It has been used in oral and vaginal treatments for over 100 years. It can be used as a preventive measure with other topical treatments to alleviate symptoms of fungal infection. Boric acid is also very safe, as it has been used as a pesticide, antiseptic, and anti-fungal treatment. It is considered to be 99 percent safe and effective when used properly.
Boric acid can be used in two ways – directly and diluted. In the case of oral thrush, it should be applied directly to the affected areas of the mouth using a cotton swab or a small amount of water-based lubricant. Any trace amounts left on the lips or fingers can be washed off before they have time to be ingested. The benefit of using boric acid is that it doesn’t need to be ingested to work, and it can effectually kill any traces of fungus on the mouth that traditional treatments may leave behind. If boric acid is used in its diluted form, it can be ingested by adding it into some type of liquid solution.
