Reduce Stress
Stress is a response given by the body to fight threats. It is a reasonable reaction since it provides the body with extra strength, power, and alertness when needed. It is an integral part of the body, but unmanaged stress is harmful. It can affect the body’s immunity, making it more prone to infections.
Study shows that a person can develop myocarditis through viral infections. A common cold, flu, respiratory infections, measles, and rubella are some of the conditions that may affect and cause myocarditis. In addition, it is proven that stress can cause these infections since a person under extreme pressure may suppress the immune system by raising catecholamine and suppressor T cells that work as a protective barrier against viral infection.
There is also a condition wherein intense emotional or physical stress, called stress cardiomyopathy, can cause cardiac dysfunctions such as myocarditis. This condition worsens myocarditis by prompting the body’s inflammatory response to malfunction, preventing the inflammation from decreasing or subsiding.
